Level 3 Award in Mental Health First Aid in the Workplace

Did you know that 1 in 4 people in the UK are likely to experience mental health problems each year? Mental health is just as important as physical health, yet whilst we know how to take care of our physical health, many people do not know how to support relatives, friends and even colleagues who are experiencing poor mental health.

By developing a greater understanding of common mental health issues, as well as how best to support and guide someone experiencing poor mental health, you can help to reduce the stigma associated with mental health in the UK.

Throughout this 2-day course, Learners will develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to actively promote positive mental health in the workplace by covering a range of topics, including understanding mental health and its importance, own wellbeing as a mental health first aider, common mental health conditions, how to support those experiencing poor mental health at work, and much more.

Alternatively, printed certificates are also available at no additional cost. Learners must complete the assessment in the unit, successfully within the registration period to achieve the qualification. The maximum period to achieve this qualification, including any referrals is 12 weeks.

The number of hours a Learner will reasonably be likely to spend in preparation and study (including assessment) as directed by, but not under the immediate guidance or supervision of a Trainer (e.g, pre-course reading) for this qualification is 14 hours.

2. Be able to listen actively and feel confident to have a conversation with individuals potentially suffering mental ill-health.

3. Be able to assist with policy writing and risk assessments for mental health in the workplace.
